ORIGIN: Mahón Gin takes its name from the historic port town of Mahón on Menorca—a Balearic island long shaped by its rich maritime heritage.

 

SEA-AIR AGED JUNIPER BERRIES: The juniper berries, a crucial element of gin, are sourced from the Pyrenees foothills and aged for two to three years in open crates at the distillery, near the harbor. This process concentrates the aromatic profile, resulting in a silky smooth, slightly salty finish. 

 

UNIQUE BASE SPIRIT: Unlike most gins, Mahon Gin is distilled from a grape-based spirit originating in Spain’s Penedès region. This alternative base also makes the gin naturally gluten-free.

 
 

PEDIGREE: Mahon Gin is recognized by the European Union as having a Protected Geographical Indication, ensuring its authenticity and origin. 

 

TRADITIONAL DISTILLATION: The oldest still in the distillery is of French origin and dates back approximately 290 years. It was originally used in France for at least two decades before being acquired in 1756, during the period of French rule in Menorca.

 

CENTURY AWARD: In 2022, Mahón Gin received the prestigious “Century Award” from the Proof Awards, recognizing its outstanding quality and earning a rare perfect score of 100 points. This honor, along with a Double Gold Award, highlights the gin’s exceptional craftsmanship and enduring excellence.
