They've crafted this beauty using 100% malted Rye from Europe and let it mature in new American Oak Barrels, under the watchful eye of renowned whisky experts.

Limited Edition Nilgiris Gin is aged in a combination of Peated and Unpeated Amrut casks for a short period, enough to accentuate the intrinsic flavors of the original Nilgiris Gin and also deliver a dynamic influence of the casks.

This limited-edition gin was handcrafted using imported and locally sourced botanicals. The finished spirit was then matured in ex-bourbon casks with the final maturation in a combination of peated and unpeated Amrut casks for a few months, the same casks that produce Amrut's award-winning whiskies. Next, the gin from all the casks was blended so the flavors of the original gin and that derived from the oak could combine for a rich, uniform profile. The gin has been married for almost as many months as it was matured, to create a depth of flavor that would make the gin versatile. This is a gin for mixologists, aficionados and amateurs alike.

UNPEATED SINGLE MALT. Amrut's newest release under the umbrella brand - 'Single Malts of India' to showcase some of the hidden gem malts of India.

Kurinji is a single malt eponymously sourced from the hills and exhibits traits that uniquely spring from the locale. Ancient Tamil texts, dating back to the Sangam period (300 BC – 300 AD), classify mother earth into five regions called Tinais, each associated with its distinct literary style, grammar, culture, and even cuisine. Sangam literature has documented the “Kurinji” in its Agam or love poetry. The inspiration behind our next expression is the exuberant Kurinji flowers, nestled in the hills of South India. This flower blooms once every 12 years (a phenomenon known as Plietesials), filling the lush greenery of the mountains with a purple shade as far as the eyes can see! As the water flows down the hill and so do the stories with it, every bottle of Amrut’s Kurinji encompasses the floral flavor of the purple-shaded mountains that it originates from.

8 Year Old Greedy Angels produced from Peated Barley, aged in Oloroso Sherry Casks. This is the first ever peated single malt, peated in-house at Amrut with peat sourced from Aberdeenshire, Scotland. 

Each addition of Greedy Angels is unique in its flavours and characteristics. It has a profile of a whisky aged for over 30 years in the Scottish Isles.

Time-tested tradition, spiced with a dash of innovation, this is the process we followed in making AMRUT INTERMEDIATE SHERRY CASK SINGLE MALT. Newly made spirit, matured in the traditional way in Virgin / Ex-Bourbon Casks and is transferred into Spanish Ex-Oloroso Sherry Butts wherein it matures for a year more, gaining an added sherry finish. The finishing touch is thus lent by a further period of maturation in ex-bourbon casks. Result: an essay in elegance with subdued sherry notes that bears the tell-tale Amrut Signature of quality and innovation. A worthy successor to the much-acclaimed Amrut Fusion and Amrut Double Cask.

AGED IN EX-BOURBON, PORT PIPES AND FINISHED IN EX-BOURBON

Amrut Portonova is an un-peated single malt whisky matured initially in a combination of new American oak and ex-bourbon barrels then transferred to once-used port pipes, imported from Portugal and finally back to ex-bourbon casks. It is aptly names as Portonova as there is a town called Parangipettai (Portonovo) on the east coast of India, in the southern state of Tamil Nadu, a territory that was under Portuguese control from the 16th to the 18th century.

Peated Indian Single Malt Whisky. Procured from another distillery and polished at Amrut, Neidhal “is the first independent bottling in India,” says Amrut’s head distiller Ashok Chokalingam.

Amrut has now conceived and launched a new umbrella brand - ‘Single Malts of India’ to showcase some of the hidden gem malts of India. The first chapter of this release, titled the Neidhal will be a limited release of 12,000 bottles across the world.

Ancient Tamil texts, dating back to the Sangam period (300 BC – 300 AD), classify mother earth into five regions called Tinais, each being associated with its own distinct literary style, grammar, mood, subtle as well as overt form of romance, culture and even cuisine. “Neidhal”, according to this classification comprises all Oceans and neighboring regions or in short Coastal Plains and the way of living one associates with them.

Neidhal is a single malt eponymously sourced from a Neidhal or coastal region and exhibits traits that uniquely spring from the locale - notes of tropical fruits, vanilla punctuated by soft phenols and above all sea salt on the nose. On the palate, it is fruit cocktail and mesmerising phenols with a touch of iodine. The middle ground is an essay in chewability and a finish that is phenolic with a touch of sweet vanilla.

A dry handcrafted gin using the freshest botanicals from the pristine Nilgiris (Blue) mountains in the western ghats of India at 7000 ft above sea level. The maceration and distillation is skillfully performed in copper pot stills with juniper berries, coriander, lemongrass, angelica, orris root, cinnamon, mace, nutmeg and tea. An incredible combination of 75% Cask Strength Single Malt and 25% Cask Strength Peated Single Malt, are further aged to create this multi-award winning whisky.

"One of the great whiskies found anywhere in the world" - Jim Murray - The combination of the two single malt whiskies is then further aged in ex-bourbon barrels for 6 to 9 months. The barley used in the peated malt is malted at Bairds Malt, Inverness Scotland. The intensity of the peated barley is mellowed on its journey to India. It is further mellowed when combined with the single malt, leaving a flavor that is more spicy than peaty, which is why it has won so many fans world-wide.

'KADHAMBAM' is a Tamil word meaning 'combination' or 'mixture'. True to its name, AMRUT KADHAMBAM is a novel Single Malt that combines in itself Rum, Sherry and Brandy notes.

Regular Single Malt is further matured for further periods in casks that we previously used to mature Rum (Ex-Amrut Rum Cask), Sherry and Brandy (Ex-Amrut Brandy Cask). Subsequently, they are married together on a specific, proprietary ratio, to achieve the right balance, in refill bourbon casks. In this process the malt successively gains the aroma and the notes of Rum, Sherry and Brandy. The result is a truly gratifying mix of notes. As a succession of subtle and complex notes unravel, AMRUT KADHAMBAM is sure to exhilarate your nose and palate with a first-of-its-kind experience.

This 3 year old whisky was then finished in the cask for a further 3 years, producing a whisky with extra orangey notes.

Naarangi is the Hindi word for 'orange'. Initially, casks were filled with Oloroso Sherry and orange peel was added. This was left for 3 years to season the cask and impart flavours. Following this, 3 year old cask strength Amrut was put into the seasoned sherry/orange casks and then matured for a further 3 years. This produces a unique whisky with a sherry cask finish and orangey notes.
