The Purity of Amrut Products

Amrut takes great pride in the purity of their spirits through top-quality ingredients.

The word Amrut means “nectar of the gods” and their spirits truly live up to that name due to the exceptional quality of their ingredients. Amrut Distilleries is passionate about producing the best spirits in the world and only uses top-quality water, barley, and yeast during production. All ingredients come from hand-picked, special locations to ensure the purity of their products is exceptional. Their distillers have spent years perfecting their recipes and all spirits are made using crystal-clear water from their own deep well aquifer.

Pure Water is Vital

Every whisky lover understands the importance of pure water in whisky. People frequently add water to whisky in order to adjust the proof. Out of the cask, the proof lies somewhere between 60-67%. To get the whisky to regular strength of 40-46% you can add water to the whisky. Some companies add water during the distillation process, but whisky lovers also like to adjust to their liking. Adding clean purified water is key in achieving ultimate taste and quality.

Amrut Distilleries is located in Kambipura which is 20 km away from Bengaluru. They go to great lengths to ensure the finest quality in all spirits produced. Barley comes from the Punjab and Rajasthan regions in North India, travelling nearly 40 hours and 2.500 km (1.553 miles) to reach the distillery. The barley is malted in Delhi, which is a 2100 km  (1304 miles) trip to the distillery. To round out their exceptional spirits, they have their own deep well aquifer that produces crystal-clear water. The water source is a deep bore hole located 2 km (1.2 miles) away and transported to the distillery. During distillation of whisky at Amrut, the clear natural water mixes with the malt in a mash tun.

Purity in Every Step of the Process

Because Amrut invests so much into the quality of its ingredients, it also does the same for its manufacturing processes. The company has frequent environmental analysis reports done on the distillery to ensure and maintain the utmost quality in all of its production processes, from start to finish. Any water that interacts directly with the barley is the spring water gathered from their deep well aquifer on the Amrut farm. All products are then distilled not once, but twice, for ultimate purification.

How Distillation Works

Distillation involves heating a liquid to its boiling point until it vaporizes. This vapor is passed through sterilized pipes and tubes at a lower temperature, until it cools and condenses into a liquid called a distillate. Any impurities are left behind, and the distillate is the result of the original liquid, in its purest form. The distillation process mimics the natural processes of evaporation and condensation. It has been going on for centuries and dates back to Ancient Mesopotamian times. Artisans at Amrut have taken a long-standing, trusted ancient craft, and enhanced it through modern technology and acquired knowledge.
